The measured level is high enough that hair stylists and consumers should be concerned. However, an observer argued that researchers from ChemRisk botched a very important part of any experiment; they failed to simulate the real-life use of Brazilian Blowout, by using improper amounts of the product. They tested a Brazilian Blowout product without reading the usage instruction. In many keratin-based hair straightening products, formaldehyde is often chemically reacted with other substances and because formaldehyde is no longer present in its original form, manufacturers may label their keratin hair straightening products as “formaldehyde-free”. Formalin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], methylene glycol, paraform,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], methylene oxide,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], oxymethylene, oxomethane and formic adelhyde have formaldehyde as one of the constituents.. Some chemicals can release formaldehyde during the treatment process, such as methylene glycol and timonacic acid.
An independent study carried out by ChemRisk showed that some “formaldehyde-free” products release formaldehyde above the standard occupational exposure limit. The exposure limit of formaldehyde also depends on the air circulation and the size of the room where the products are being used, for example, a study done in a salon, shows that Brazilian Blowout produces 11.5% of average formaldehyde concentration.
Another hair care treatment is called keratin hair straightening and it’s already available in professional hair salon. The straightening process involves the application of active keratin to the hair and it must be fused with the flat iron. To seal and lock in the keratin solution to the hair, the flat iron must be heated to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. After the treatment, the hair can look shiny, silky and smooth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because the keratin seals in the moisture. It works best on hair that has been treated chemically and the smoothness can last to four or five months.
FDA has revealed that some hair care products contain formaldehyde,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], while some hair straightening products, including Brazilian Blowout, may have the same substance at a dangerously high level. FDA had ordered the company to reduce the level of formaldehyde or face a quick removal of its products from the market. FDA believed that products released by Brazilian Blowouts were mislabeled and misleading, which are advertised falsely that they don’t contain any formaldehyde.
An examination showed that some products contain between 8.7% and 10.4% of liquid formaldehyde, while FDA considers that a level above 0.1% as hazardous. Some customers who use Brazilian Blowout complained that they experience skin irritation, headaches, fainting and breathing problems. A few are allergic to formaldehyde and the reactions can be quite severe. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Brazilian Blowout denied the allegation saying that the experiment results actually correspond to the potential amounts of formaldehyde released, which never occur in real life. The company explained that their products contain only methylene glycol, a harmless form of alcohol and although it can be converted to formaldehyde during use, the amount is insignificant and below the safety levels set by OSHA.
The bottom line is, you should be aware that “formaldehyde-free” hair care products may still release formaldehyde fumes to the air. As the result, consumers and workers may absorb the substance through their skin or by simply breathing it in.
Formaldehyde was originally used a preservative agent to embalm dead body,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however it eventually found its way into many consumer products including home cleaning and personal care products. Some formaldehyde may be used in products including bubble bath, cosmetics,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lotions and shampoos. You may find it quite disturbing that the substance was detected in some baby products, such as wipes. Exposure to formaldehyde is linked with various diseases, such as cancer, leukemia and oral cavity.
Brazilian Blowout is popular among women, because it allows them to get frizz-free,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], straight and sleek hair quickly. The procedure only takes less than two hours and the hair can stay straight for about three months. However, it comes with a relatively steep price tag of $500 or more. The popularity of the treatment skyrocketed after some celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie reportedly used Brazilian Blowout products to straighten their hair.

Who would think that a mosaic class could open up a world of creativity in a 46 year old woman? I didn’t, but the first class I took in mosaics truly allowed me to express my imagination and creativity in a way I didn’t expect.
Eventually I shared my creative gifts through teaching others, reluctantly at first. An art fair customer, Diane, begged me to teach her for two years before I finally said yes. I had my students pick their projects and I taught them the creative process to make the piece they wanted. My thought was that when they were finished,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if they never wanted to make another mosaic they went home with one piece of “art” they could be proud of.
My original thought that I couldn’t be an artist because I couldn’t draw a straight line, and I certainly never colored within them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is what has me be able to see what is possible for others.
As the men discovered their creativity, the fear of making mistakes diminished, and the excitement of self expression emerged. The process of metamorphosis began. The men they knew themselves to be altered with each piece of mosaic they put down,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a new picture of the men they would become emerged.
In 2009,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I learned that Mariners Inn,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a facility and program for homeless men recovering from addiction, needed supplies for mosaics. I was so excited to share my supplies and time with these men, because I knew how transformation was possible through rearranging the broken pieces into something new.

4) What does it mean that you have a judgment of any kind? It means that you have a judgment, that's all,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that's it, nothing more, nothing less. Give yourself a break. If the belief or judgment you discover doesn't work for your well being, then ask yourself "Am I willing to give that one up?" If so, great. If not, great too. Either way, insight is the beginning of all true wisdom, and true wisdom is the beginning of living out a successful and joyful life.
2) After acknowledgment, ask yourself the question: "Am I willing?" Am I willing to discover just what my visible and invisible beliefs and judgments are?

6) Lastly, know with certainty, that this whole process isn't an easy one for any of us. It's hard to admit those things about ourselves we've taken up as habits, and then to truly let go of them after we see all that stuff we don't like about ourselves. But it's still just stuff, and each one of us have a whole slew of that junk, all different, with not one person a single iota better than any other person for it. That junk we all have to get rid of is just what it means to be human. And the best part is, being human also means having the potential willingness to shift our energy, over time, from that which does not work for us, into that which does. Good luck on your journey!
The thing is, most of us resist this process like hell. Or as if it were hell. Because it is hell! It's hell giving up our ego's bent to dominate and control the entire Universe, if not in fact, then from the inside of the world we create within our small, judgmental minds. And it's not that we're stupid, in fact, humans are extremely intelligent,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], yet woefully ignorant. Ignorant of the myriad of invisible processes and reactive systems that run them. Yet through the "tell the truth now tell the truth later" system of successful living, it isn't all that hard to come to the point where invisible belief systems no longer run us as much as they have in the past. As much,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because it seems as if those systems are like interlinking tunnels that have been burrowed through our minds for centuries, tied up in our very DNA, and they occur like new hoards of ants with forty more seeming to spring up just as soon as you kill one. Yet there is a way to deal with the fact of their existence, one that will bring us to more and more over time, lead successful lives. Successful, in our eyes. In this way, loving family, robust health, more money, good relationships, an increased experience of love and self-worthiness, a satisfying career, a cherished avocation, much joy, and happiness, and all those things we desire that would fulfill our dreams, come to make up the bulk of our lives.

First of all, in order to give something up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we would have to know what that something actually is. Not what we believe it is, or think it is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but what it actually is. This is a difficult discernment to make with regard to judgments because there is a line regarding our perceptions of what is a judgment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and what is not a judgment, that when crossed, triggers our automatic mind system to reward us with the feeling of "being right" and the key point is, whether we are correct with our assessment, or not. A totally addictive feeling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], more powerful than any drug known to man. Or woman, for that matter! When crossed, we switch from feeling like what we are doing is a judgment, and instead, feel as if what we are doing is simply "right," and it may be right, again, quite regardless of whether our perceptions are correct or not. A correct perception perceives what is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a right/wrong perception perceives what is believed to be true, whether it is true or not. Our automatic judgment system does this whether the right we think we are, is correct or not. Up until we get to that line, we can clearly see that what we're doing is judging. For instance, outright racism is a judgment, that most people are quite aware, whether they feel right or wrong, that they are doing it when they're doing it. In fact, every single other form of judgment that we can name, would be one that was also obvious to us. Maybe they're not all as obvious as the more common ones, but sooner or later it dawns on us that we're judging. Sometimes we're willing to give that judgment up, at others times, we are not. Great. That's it for obvious judgments. They're the ones we do have the potential to give up, because we can see them. But what about all the others?
How then, do we deal with the fact of the existence of invisible beliefs? Here's a beginning list,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], one taken from the online seminar I offer participants. Hopefully this will support your journey of success, because in this venue it can only be a partial list:
Part 1:
What others? That's the point. All of our judgments that are invisible to us, just automatically "seem right" simply because they're already in our heads, and in being so, are so hard to pick out of the background called "rightness" like trying to identify in a small photograph, a white snowflake falling on a winter's day, taken with a white background. But they're there, and it's those invisible judgments that really run our lives, not the ones that we can see. This is why the villain when he's thoroughly evil all the way through and through, and enjoys it, is someone we actually seem to like in a movie. He's predictable, and doesn't hide his evilness. At the least, we like him because he's honest. When we allow judgments that are invisible to our conscious mind to run us, we are not being honest. This cover up happens in our lives when we say things to hide how we actually feel, or we say things that we don't really mean because they're "funny," and as well, when we fight about things without ever realizing what the fight is really about; and we do this kind of fighting all the time. We do this battling in relationships, and in particular, marriages, and this is why it's hard to maintain your balance within them, and in turn, this is also why they are the perfect venue for ferreting out these invisible beliefs that form into operating judgments. This is the importance of saying "Thank you!" to them when they come up! Go ahead, say "Thank You!" to your spouse as soon as you can!
5) Anything, and I mean,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], each and every anything, that we first had the power to do, we also have the power to undo. Whatever habits we've picked up, whatever automatic reactive traits we have, we can give them up, we can let them go, and we then have the power to take up new ones. Ones that work for us. Ask yourself, "Am I willing to discover what works for me, and to let go of what does not?" And it's only you who can decide what works for you or not.
What follows has to be by design, in a short article, an incomplete essay on how to give up our judging, and what to do about it. In the following articles of which there will be two more on how to give up our judging, more information will be given as to what our judgments actually look like, how to give them up, as well as how invisible judgments operate in our lives. For now, what is provided is only the beginning of this incredibly useful process designed to support you in giving up all that doesn't work for you, and instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], devoting your precious life time and energy to that which does work for you. Your choice, your voice, as always, because only you can say what does and does not work for you.
3) After you answer question two, if the answer is "Yes," then ask yourself if you are willing to give up those that are not serving you. Really ask yourself, and be with the answers you get. They will reveal a lot about the most important relationship you have: your relationship to yourself.

Shifting our focus to the here and now turns out to be a big energy booster, believe me! After all this is a new phase of our life and we want to explore new ideas, or meet new people.
Change can provoke many emotions ranging from excitement or joy to anxiety, from helplessness to outright depression. These emotions can hinder or benefit the person in transition. Of course, we would love to own only those emotions which support us to sail through life with ease and joy. The good news is that this can be achieved to a great degree. Though it takes discipline,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], courage and dedication to learn and train oneself to call on supporting emotions, most of the time it can be done.
From this I learned that it is ourselves who are in charge of our emotions and make the decision, albeit subconsciously. So why don't we choose the ones which benefit us most? What good is there cultivating anger or frustration?
So how can life evolve with ease and joy in times of transition,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]?
One of the most important lessons I have learned in my professional life is to make a conscious decision to look for solutions and opportunities rather than focusing on problems. Every time this happen, I'd feel ‘jazzed’ up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I could dance on the table! Wow!
Finally, we should be honest with ourselves and let our inner selves shine. Our inner beauty will make us feel strong, more open,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and receptive to support from others,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who truly value us.
If we can learn to gracefully navigate the oftentimes choppy waters of transition, including becoming conscious of our basic outlook on life, making changes where needed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], developing a support system, and using effective coping strategies, we may find ourselves coming through the transition to the other side, in a much better place than we were when we started. Hopefully,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this will lead us to find our passion, our voice and our feet wherever we may find ourselves living in the world. For me, that’s a big part of what life is all about!
Moving inevitably forces us to detach from our past experiences, emotions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], belongings, habits. Painful as this may be, letting go of the past that no longer serves us in our current circumstance will get us a long way and make room for new things to show up in our life. This is an exciting phase in our life to take our wishes and dreams seriously and we should do it now, not later! Later may never come to surprise us.
In the end it is us who have the power to change what we don’t like in our life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. How much time have we already wasted while waiting for someone else to do it for us?
As a woman who has gone through a number of transitions for two lifetimes, I have lived through the uncertainties, difficulties, tensions and risks associated with being uprooted from one's comfort zone. As a professional coach, I've found personal affirmation from other women whose own stories of survival have opened up possibilities of coping with the challenges of transitions. These shared experiences have inspired me to become profoundly interested in knowing some of the factors which can help us move through the inevitable changes in our lives.
One of the first things I learned from the women who came to me for counselling is this: how much easier it is to train our mind to welcoming change as opposed to resisting it! Life continually unfolds unexpected blessings that there is always something new to experience, learn or develop.

In our journey through life, we face many different types of transition at different times. In the past, life transitions were not as big an issue as women made relatively few of them. However, as global living becomes more and more a daily reality, we are now making more transitions and they are happening with greater frequency than ever before. Those of us who are consciously engaged in the re-awakening our wholeness and aligning to evolution have to become masterful in how we respond to our emotions. If we don’t, we will continue to feel overwhelmed, confused,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and intimidated by the energetic and somatic experience of the emotions.
Emotions are the means we can come into union with different parts of ourselves. The unconscious parts of ourselves communicate with us somatically, through our emotions. Emotions are not something that “happen” to us… they are the longing, the call or the roar of the forgotten places inside of us. Ultimately it is our soul’s yearning to awaken and evolve. How we engage with them determines the nature of the relationship we build with ourselves, with others and the world. Most of the times, what produces more pain is: 1. The automatic avoidance of emotions; 2. The self-judgment around having certain emotions; 3. The guilt/shame we experience when we unconsciously strike out emotionally. These ways reinforce the split and the lack of love we have for ourselves.
3. Integrating the core meaning in order to accelerate our growth. By learning to master our emotions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we restore the balance between our conscious mind and our emotional body, and we will become leaders of our natural impulses, our life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and our relationships with others.

During these times of accelerated expansion and growth, it is crucial that we develop a conscious relationship with our emotions. It is imperative we: become aware of, understand the causes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and learn new skills in order to transform our emotions.
I feel there is a personal as well as collective affliction we suffer from – that of emotional illiteracy.
Emotions As Gifts Of Wisdom
Why would I be angry, ignore or judge myself for feeling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hurt, anger,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sadness, etc.? Why would I perpetuate hostility, animosity and disconnection from myself? Learning another way of relating with myself requires that I respond to my emotions from a more mature and wise part of myself. It requires I develop the ability to distinguish between myself and what my self is trying to communicate to me through the emotions. It requires acceptance, trust and compassion for myself. It requires honoring and loving myself, and being devoted to the goodness of life, in order to move into the place of higher understanding.
Most of us have been raised in such a way that we are insecure about our emotions. We either become overwhelmed by our emotions and we run away from them, or we indulge them and collapse into them. In either case, the force of our emotions has control over us.

Unexplainable good fortune happens constantly for people like you. The key is to amplify the energy of it by acknowledging it.

He put a buyer under contract and on the way back to the office, the buyer made an unreasonable request. The buyer asked if Sid wouldn’t mind driving by another property, even though she had no intention of buying it.
